I wish to apply for Advisor member position on the 2020-2022 National Executive Committee.  As an undergrad, I was a member of Gamma Beta Phi. I was very shy and being a part of an honor society helped pull me out of my shell. Once I joined Gamma, I became more involved in other organizations on campus. I want to help give others students the same opportunities that helped shape my direction while in college.

For the past five years I have been working full-time as Educational Outreach Counselor with Student Support Services at Bluefield State College. I serve as Advisor of the Bluefield State College Chapter of Gamma Beta Phi. I graduated with a B.S. in Early/Middle Education with a specialization in Math (5-9) from Bluefield State College. I also served as an SSS Peer Tutor/Mentor.

Since becoming the advisor, I have helped the chapter increase their recruitment numbers by 333% and took the BSC Chapter to the 2018 National Convention in Knoxville, Tennessee. I also have served on the Gamma Beta Phi’s scholarship committee for two consecutive years. I have successfully coordinated blood drives on campus with Blood Assurance and American Red Cross, collaboratively with the community. I have helped facilitate multiple various fundraising initiatives like the Fall Festival. Our chapter won organization of the year two consecutive years from the student body at Bluefield State College.

My vision for the next two years as a board member is to increase Gamma involvement amongst various chapters to complete service projects on a larger scale working with national programs such as habitat for America and Veterans Affairs. I feel this can be accomplished by working more closely with local chapters to collaborate on service projects that will benefit those organizations. I also want to increase recruitment numbers for Gamma Beta Phi nationally, as I have done with our chapter.

Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.

My name is Kim Page and I am running as an advisor member of the Gamma Beta Phi NEC Board.

I have been the co-advisor at Middle Tennessee State University since the spring of 2018. During this time, I have seen the chapter at MTSU undergo tremendous growth. When I began as an advisor, the chapter had 11 active members. Now, we have nearly 100 students that have completed their community service and scholastic requirements for the fall 2019 semester. I have enjoyed watching my chapter at MTSU grow. I have helped develop the executive board from a loosely-structured group to a closely bonded friend group that works together to better our organization.

I think that my experience helping Middle Tennessee grow from a small chapter to a distinguished chapter in just one year would translate to the national executive committee. I hope to help further the success and development of other chapters in the country.

In addition to my strengths of developing a small local chapter, I have strengths as a public speaker. I have spoken in front of crowds as large as 10,000 and as small as a classroom of a few students. I also serve as a judge at MTSU for fraternity & sorority life awards and scholarships. I have experience sorting through scholarship applications of talented students and making the hard decisions of whom to select for an award. Furthermore, I presently serve as the chapter advisor for a large sorority. I have been an advisor for the sorority for six years. I can take some of the strengths of the sorority and help translate them to things to help gamma beta phi grow.

Should you have any questions about my qualifications, please reach out to me at Kimberly.Page@mtsu.edu or 865-805-8704.
