Dr. Sharonda Cooper

ShaRonda Cooper, Ph.D., serves as the Assistant Dean for Students at the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine, bringing a wealth of experience in higher education, student affairs, and mental health counseling. With a strong passion for supporting student well-being, Dr. Cooper has held previous leadership roles, including Director of the Department of Multicultural Services and Programs at the University of Georgia and Assistant Director of Student Success at the Fontaine Center. As a licensed professional counselor and trained health coach, she integrates clinical expertise with a deep commitment to fostering inclusivity, resilience, and academic success within academic communities.
Dr. Cooper holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Ohio University, a M.Ed. in Mental Health & Rehabilitation Counseling, and a B.A. in Psychology from Fort Valley State University. Throughout her academic and professional journey, she has remained focused on student success and wellness, designing and leading wellness programs, addressing burnout, and emphasizing the importance of self-care for both students and educators. As a nationally recognized speaker and advocate for student well-being, Dr. Cooper shares her insights on leadership, diversity, and well-being at conferences across the country. She is deeply passionate about helping students succeed and find fulfillment in both their academic journeys and future careers.
Dr. Janna Harvey

Dr. Janna Harvey is the Associate Director of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In this role, she leads programs that support undergraduate research, oversees campus-wide research events, and advises students on prestigious fellowship opportunities such as Fulbright, Gilman, and Boren. With extensive experience in fostering student success, she is passionate about helping undergraduates explore their academic and professional potential through research, creative activities, and scholarships. Dr. Harvey is committed to creating inclusive opportunities that empower students to make a meaningful impact in their fields and communities.
Janiece Pigg

Miss Janiece Pigg currently serves as a Student Success Advisor for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Herbert College of Agriculture.
As a Starkville, Mississippi native, Janiece Pigg has been interested in agriculture from a young age. Her passion for agriculture led her to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education, Leadership and Communications from Mississippi State University in 2019 and a Master of Science in Agricultural and Extension Education and Evaluation from Louisiana State University in 2021. After completing her degrees, Janiece worked for the College of Agriculture at Tennessee State University and then joined UTIA as the Extension Assistant for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Tennessee 4-H Youth Development state office. Janiece joined the Herbert College of Agriculture in July 2023 as a Student Success Advisor working to plan, mentor, and elevate undergraduate students to succeed personally and professionally in the agricultural industry.
Throughout her career in the land-grant system, Janiece has gained a vast expertise and experience in advising, student leadership development, and collaborating with undergraduate and graduate agricultural students to achieve their personal and professional goals.
Naquaina Moore

NaQuaina Moore has been supporting and advocating for students for the past 9.5 years on the campus of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She received her Bachelor of Science in Language, Literature and Writing and her Master of Education in Educational Leadership-Higher Education Student Affairs from Eastern Michigan University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Leadership and Decision-Making at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. NaQuaina is passionate about educating and empowering students to be leaders on campus and beyond. In her free time, she is an outdoor recreation enthusiast, who loves recreational activities such as camping, hiking, kayaking, and exploring earth’s natural beauty.
Ryan Lee

Ryan Lee is a west-TN native who received his BA in English literature from The University of Memphis and his MA in English from The University of Tennessee Knoxville (UTK). Ryan has been working with college writers in some fashion since 2015, taught English composition for a year at Chattanooga State Community College, and currently serves as the Assistant Director of Fellowships at UTK where he assists students applying to a variety of competitive scholarships/fellowships.
Kate Burford

Kate Burford is a Coach with the Undergraduate Research and Fellowships Office, where she guides students in pursuing undergraduate research opportunities and professional fellowships to achieve their academic and career aspirations.
Kate holds a Master of Arts in Neuroscience and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Her research background includes exploring the effects of anesthetics on the central nervous system in a sleep medicine lab. She brings a wealth of experience in higher education, including teaching and advising at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and other institutions. Her teaching portfolio spans a variety of psychology, neuroscience and first-year studies courses.
Passionate about empowering students, Kate is dedicated to helping them navigate opportunities that enrich their academic journeys. She is excited to collaborate with colleagues and students alike to foster success and growth.
