National Convention Book Drive

The Gamma Beta Phi Society is partnering with The Little Free Library for our 2017 – 2018 National Gamma Beta Phi Service Project! The Little Free Library is a “take a book, return a book” free exchange service. They come in many shapes and sizes, but the most common version is a small wooden box of books. Anyone may take a book or bring a book to share. These small boxes serve a huge purpose in local communities. They provide children with access to free books, in an effort to promote literacy, scholarship, and education! The Little Free Library is committed to fostering neighborhood exchanges around the world, and Gamma Beta Phi is committed to supporting their efforts.

In an effort to promote literacy on a national level, we are asking all conference attendees to bring children’s books to the national convention. Although we are asking each attendee to bring at least one book, you (and your chapter) are more than welcome to collect and bring as many books as you desire! We will be collecting those books on Saturday, February 17.  Books will be collected, boxed up, and sent to community centers in neighborhoods that lack direct access to Public Libraries.
